Escalante Slot Canyons

Attractions //
Located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Utah is the Escalante River, which flows along with its many tributaries. The larger array of canyons that make up the Escalante Slot Canyons in this area can be explored by boat because the lower end of the river is part of lake Powell, or you can take hikes.
The only way to access the Escalante Slot Canyons is by going through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument; by way of the Hole-in-the-Rock road from the west.
The upper area is traversed by UT 12 and more than one side track - Wolverine Road, connected to Burr Trail, lets you access several canyons in the northeast, but it's impossible to reach the southeast region next to the lake by road.
These are some of the Escalante Slot Canyons you can visit:
Big Horn Canyon - In a secluded area, this ravine is quite colorful.
Brimstone Gulch - One of the darkest canyons in the southwest.
Coyote Gulch, Dry Fork - Narrow passageways and a long stream.
Davis Gulch - This Canyon has a very large natural arch.
Egypt 3 - Three different areas make up these slot canyons.
Harris Wash - Navajo sandstone drainage for an interesting excursion.
Little Death Hollow - A remote location with very narrow canyons many people find rather challenging.
Llewellyn Gulch - A hidden canyon you should not miss.
Neon Canyon - This slot ends at the golden cathedral.
Peekaboo Gulch - Lots of erosion here, many pools and arches as well.
Red Breaks - Not too many visitors come to this canyon, it is very secluded.
