The Cedar City Lions Club 13th Annual Great
American Stampede is Friday and Saturday, September 5th and 6th with old
fashioned Western fun with two nights of National Intercollegiate Rodeo
hosted by SUU and collegiate rodeo teams from around the West.
Sponsored in part by Bald Eagle Beverage, Coca Cola and Cherry Creek Radio and many others at the Iron Rangers Arena at the Cross Hollow Event Center will be the sight of bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, and calf roping, and the kids will laugh with the rodeo clowns.
Also featuring the Cowgirl Stampede Drill Team, and the famous specialty act of Tommie Turvie! From laugh out loud comedy to extreme riding, the horses are the stars and you'll see that they can accomplish the impossible!
These are the best and most admired horses, most unique performances, and Tommie Turvie is the most versatile horseman in the business.

Overview: The Great American Stampede takes place each September, after the Labor Day holiday is done. There are Western theme activities galore and something for every cowboy and cowgirl out there. Professional rodeo riders compete in barrel racing, calf roping and steer riding among other crazy stunts.

Details: There will also be country music entertainers jamming on stage. Many other Western theme activities to get you the "ya-haw" mood will occur over the weekend. Local horsemen will parade their beautiful black Fresian horses down Main Street for kick off. Other events start at on Friday evening and run from noon on Saturday.
