Navajo Lake

A unique body of water located in the Dixie National Forest, Navajo Lake is a natural and partially manmade alpine lake. The perfect destination for fishing and boating in the state of Utah, Navajo Lake is in the mountains just above scenic Cedar City, against the backdrop of an abundant forest.

With spectacular views all around, Navajo Lake provides many great opportunities to enjoy the natural landscape of Utah and take in the local scenery and geography. It has many unique features as well, such as fissures in the rock at the bottom of the lake that drain the water all the way to Duck Creek and into the mountains at Cascade Falls.

There are many fun activities to enjoy at Navajo Lake - fishing and boating are the two favorites among visitors. Take a fishing boat out on the water for a leisurely day, or hike one of the many trails that skirt the lake. Comfortable lodging is also available.

The location of Navajo Lake 10, 000 feet above sea level means you must take precautions if you have trouble in high altitudes. It's not recommended to visit during the winter months, so consider coming in the autumn, the most beautiful time of year.

To reach Navajo lake, take I-15 north to Cedar City, then hop on state route 14 East going up the mountain. Keep moving in an easterly direction until you reach the Navajo access road, and turn right. Keep driving until you reach the lake.
