St George UT

Southern Utah's largest city, St. George is a central location for many of the area's fabulous recreation vacation destinations. When visitors travel through the National Parks in abundance in the region, St. George is a perfect place to stay with lots to do for the whole family, summer or winter.

Use St. George, Utah as a base for your vacation in southern Utah, taking advantage of this great historic town on a stretch of green, with towering red rock cliffs surrounding. Summer spends the winter in St. George, or so the promoters say. The mild winters are perfect for those snow sports. The alpine wilderness of Pine Valley Mountains isn't far away, making for more to explore in this lovely countryside.

Try your hand at canyoneering through the canyons. Witness breathtaking views as you bike along paths. Go rock climbing, hiking, even boating and fishing nearby. There are adventure trips enough for the entire family on a vacation in St. George. And of course, in winter there is skiing, snowboarding and more.

If you are on an extended camping trip, there are a number of private camping grounds close to and in St. George. Nearby state parks also have public camping. If you aren't roughing it, there are plenty of motels and hotels to take advantage of.

To get to St. George from Bryce Canyon, use UT-12 to US-89, right on UT-14 to I-15 South. Exit at #8 to arrive in St. George. It's only a 2 ½-hour drive.
