Boulder Utah is a small, picturesque town in the Garfield County. With a scanty population of just a few hundred inhabitants, this serene town is located 30 miles away from the Grand Staircase Escalante. The tiny town sits on the strikingly beautiful Byway 12.

Boulder in UT remained detached from the main cities for a long time. It was much later that the Civilian Conservation corps constructed a road, which connected it to the Escalante. It was so remote that the area was devoid of electricity till 1947.
