Overview

Escalante UT is a small ranching town (pop. 950) which makes the ideal hub for exploring the surrounding attractions. Take a walking tour of the historic buildings, browse the shops on sleepy Main Street or take a walk beside the Escalante River.

Location

Escalante is in south central Utah, off Hwy 12 and midway between the Bryce Canyon National Park, Capitol Reef National Park and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It is 121 miles east of Cedar City and 28 miles southwest of Boulder, Utah.

Getting Here

From Escalante, head west on Hwy 12, one of the most scenic drives in the US. After 50 miles, just after the small towns of Henrieville and Tropic, follow signs into Bryce Canyon National Park.
