Fees & Permits
Grand Staircase National Monument has no entrance fees as it is not a national park. However various permits are required for activities within the park, as shown below.
Entrance Fees
Currently there are no fees of any kind for enjoying Grand Staircase National Monument.
Camping Fees
Campgrounds do charge a small fee for the use of the facilities on a per night basis.
Permits
Permits are available from any Visitor Center or by self-registering at one of the trailhead registry boxes. Free permits are required for all overnight stays including:
- Backpacking
- Car camping
- Horseback Packing
- Kayaking
- Entrance to the Grand Staircase National Monument is currently free of charge
- Campsites charge a small per night fee which varies according to the facilities
- Free permits are required for camping, horseback packing and kayaking
- Permits are available at Visitor Centers and trailhead self-registration boxes
